What to Expect on the Water

The morning and afternoon session gives you plenty of time to dial in different techniques and hit multiple spots as conditions change. Then, after a break for dinner (on your own), we head back out as the sun sets for something completely different. Once it's dark, we fire up the lights and switch to bows for an action-packed bowfishing session that'll have you seeing fish in a whole new way. The lights attract everything from gar to drum, and there's nothing quite like the rush of drawing back on a big fish cruising just under the surface.

Gear Setup & Techniques

We'll be working artificial lures most of the time – spoons, soft plastics, topwater plugs – but we'll switch to live bait when the fish are being picky. These prehistoric-looking fish can stretch over 3 feet long and cruise the shallows at night looking for baitfish. They're covered in diamond-hard scales and have a mouth full of needle-sharp teeth – perfect for bowfishing since you can't catch them on regular tackle anyway.
